Why it's worth checking out
Burleigh Town Hotel is a long-established meeting place in Burleigh Heads that has entered a new chapter after previously trading as the Burleigh Town Tavern. Its redevelopment has added modern dining, entertainment and social spaces while retaining the family-friendly character the venue says locals have known for years. It is a practical choice for a relaxed pub meal, a drink with friends or an afternoon watching sport.
The bright bistro serves a contemporary take on Australian pub food, with the website naming crispy schnitzels, premium steaks, burgers and wood-fired pizzas among its offerings. The broader bar menu draws on familiar barbecue-style fare, including snags in bread, sausage rolls and rissoles. There is also a kids playground, two fully serviced bars and a dedicated family area in the expanded beer garden, making the venue suited to families as well as larger groups. The site promotes kids’ dining offers and themed events including Steak Brew, Burger Brew, Parmy Brew and Sunday Roast, although details can vary.
The beer garden is one of the venue’s main social spaces, with two outdoor areas designed for settling in with family or friends. On weekends, the venue says it may add pop-up events, an outdoor smoker and wood-fired grill dishes. Inside, the sports bar is built around a large suspended screen measuring 11 metres, alongside other big screens for live sport. The venue says it has been recognised as the QHA Awards for Excellence’s Best Sporting Entertainment venue for the past two years, giving sports fans a clear reason to choose it for a match or a group catch-up.
There is more to the venue than food and sport. The gaming room has 45 machines, including six jackpot Links, as well as four keno terminals. The venue also says it will host live entertainment through a dedicated stage and band room for touring acts and local performances. Functions are catered for too, with the functions team offering help for birthdays, special events and corporate gatherings. Overall, Burleigh Town Hotel suits families wanting an easy local meal, groups meeting for drinks or sport, and visitors looking for a substantial Gold Coast pub with dining, outdoor space and several entertainment options in one venue.
