Ernie Tebb Park is a practical local spot in Miami for families, dog owners and anyone looking for open space on the Gold Coast. Around half of the park is set aside for dogs to exercise off leash, provided they remain under effective control. Dogs must stay on leash elsewhere and are not allowed in the children’s playground areas.
The family side of the park includes a large open area, playground, picnic shelters and picnic tables, making it suitable for an easy outdoor break or a low-key gathering. There is also a basketball ring, drinking fountain and water tap. Children may enjoy the park’s distinctive mushroom fairy ring, while dog owners have room to exercise their pets in the signed off-leash area.
The park is named after Ernie Tebb, who contributed to the development and beautification of many Gold Coast parks and gardens. A returned soldier who served with the 6th Division in New Guinea during the Second World War, Tebb joined the parks staff in 1954 and was Deputy Parks Superintendent when the park was named in his honour in 1977. His influence can be seen in several city park projects, including The Cascades, ANZAC Park, Memorial Park, Macintosh Park and Greenmount Waterfall. With separate spaces for play and dog exercise, Ernie Tebb Park suits families, picnickers and local dog walkers.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.5 from 88 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
