Why it's worth checking out
HOTA Parklands is a spacious riverside setting on the Gold Coast, listed in Main Beach, with views across the Nerang River towards the Surfers Paradise skyline. It suits a relaxed stroll, jog, picnic or swim, with open parkland and a walking track providing plenty of room to move.
Evandale Lake is an enclosed swimming lagoon, while shaded picnic seating and barbecues make the park practical for casual gatherings and family outings. Children have a fenced playground with slides, climbing equipment and soft-fall surfacing beneath shade sails. Fitness stations, outdoor showers, drinking fountains and public toilets add to the everyday facilities.
The park also has a HOPO ferry stop and is home to St Margaret’s Chapel, which is used for wedding ceremonies and church services. Social gatherings, private functions and weddings can be booked through the City of Gold Coast. Accessible parking is available near the front of the parkland, with accessible toilets and ramp access via the side gate, plus pathways through the grounds.
It is a flexible spot for families, groups, solo walkers and anyone wanting time outdoors near HOTA. Dogs must remain on leash here, as there are no designated off-leash areas in these parklands, and dogs are not permitted in the playground or swimming enclosure.
