Lionel Perry Park sits beside the Nerang River in the heart of Surfers Paradise, opposite Chevron Island. It combines open lawns and tall trees with views across the water, creating a practical spot for a picnic, a quiet break or a walk through the park.
Families are well catered for, with a colourful playground featuring a small rock-climbing wall, see-saw, climbing structure and slide, orbiter and double swing set. Picnic tables are located near the front entrance, while wide concrete paths lead through the park to a viewing platform and a deck beside the jetties and waterfront buildings. From there, the deck continues towards Appel Park.
The park is also available for wedding ceremonies, social gatherings and private functions. Public toilets, including disabled toilets, are available, and the connecting pathways provide access through the park. There is no accessible parking bay at the park, although parking is available directly at the front and accessible spaces are available at the nearby Bruce Bishop Carpark. Time-limited parking can also be found along Peninsular Drive and Watson Esplanade. With its playground, lawns, paths and river outlook, it suits families, walkers, small groups and visitors looking for an easy-going outdoor space in central Surfers Paradise.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.4 from 128 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
