Philip Park is a broad coastal park on Sea World Drive in Main Beach, positioned between Hollindale Park and the southern end of the Federation Walk Coastal Reserve. It has open grassy areas, shaded hills beneath trees and natural surrounds that make it suitable for a picnic, a relaxed walk or some time outdoors near the beach.
Facilities include barbecue and picnic areas, picnic tables, drinking fountains, outdoor showers, toilets and an outdoor gym with fitness equipment. There are multiple beach access points, and the park is also the first marker of the Jubilee Walkway. The coastal pathway is wide and concrete, making it suitable for walking or cycling, while other trails run through dirt, sand, bushland and dunes. Look out for birdlife and native species in the revegetation areas along the way.
Dogs are welcome on leash, with dog bowls available at drinking fountains, although dogs are not permitted in children's playground areas. Philip Park is also used for weddings, with open spaces beneath large trees, natural surroundings and an ocean backdrop behind the Sheraton Mirage offering ceremony and photography settings. Accessibility varies across the park: some trails are not wheelchair accessible, while the coastal walkway and selected paths near the southern carpark provide easier access. It suits picnickers, walkers, cyclists, fitness-minded visitors, dog owners and wedding groups.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.6 from 132 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
