Hinterland Regional Park

Hinterland Regional Park is a quiet 62-hectare bushland setting in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast, with plenty of space for relaxed outdoor time. Its landscape includes a gently hilly centre, a broad flat grassy area and bushwalking tracks ranging from easy to moderate, with some sections covered in grass. The surrounding vegetation provides the chance to hear frogs and birds while exploring the park.

Families are well catered for with a fully shaded playground featuring swings, rockers, monkey bars, bridges, climbing equipment and a flying fox. Picnic shelters, tables and barbecues are spread throughout the park, making it suitable for casual picnics, birthday gatherings and larger private functions. Public toilets are positioned near the entrance, and the one-way road loops around the park with on-site parking available as you enter from Hardys Road.

Dog owners can use the fenced off-leash exercise area, which also includes agility equipment. Dogs must remain on leash elsewhere, are not allowed in the playground, and are prohibited from the park’s conservation areas where signs indicate. Accessibility is provided to the disability toilet and one picnic barbecue area from the park road, while the playground and other picnic areas are on a small hill without connecting pathways.

The park also has a local conservation story. Its original vegetation has been changed over time by timber clearing, grazing, infrastructure and introduced plants, while an active bushcare group works with the City’s NaturallyGC Landcare program on bushland improvement and tree planting. It suits families, dog owners, walkers, nature-focused visitors and groups looking for an open-air gathering spot.
